QU Hosts Entrepreneurship, Innovation Forum 2026 to Explore Shifts in Global Economic Landscape
Doha, February 10 (QNA) - Qatar University (QU) has hosted the third Entrepreneurship and Innovation Forum 2026, a high-profile platform that convenes business leaders, policymakers, and academics to discuss the shifts reshaping the global economic scene and explore innovation-based sustainable growth paths amid rapid developments.
A statement by QU on Tuesday said that the forum was organized by the Center for Entrepreneurship (CfE) at the College of Business and Economics and laser-focused on emerging strategic challenges and opportunities amid global uncertainty, rapid technological advancements, sustainability requirements, and the emergence of new markets and sectors, as well as exploring avenues for translating economic orientations and policies into leading applicable initiatives with concrete economic impact.
The statement noted that a panel discussion was organized and drilled down on priority growth fields, including renewable and clean energy, smart infrastructure, digital platforms, fintech, health technology, advanced manufacturing, and innovation-based services, with an emphasis on the importance of scientific implementation and turning ideas into scalable projects.
Dean of the College of Business and Economics at QU, Prof. Rana Sobh, said the Forum reflects the commitment of the university and the college to translating the national vision into scientific entrepreneurial initiatives, emphasizing that it has become a strategic bridge linking policy, knowledge, and practice by bringing together entrepreneurs, industry leaders, policymakers, and academics to contribute to the creation of solutions that support economic diversification and sustainable development.
The CfE is working to bridge the gap between theory and practice through the development of innovative mindsets, enabling the establishment of entrepreneurial projects, and strengthening the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem in the State of Qatar in light of rapidly evolving global economic transformations, Prof. Sobh highlighted, clarifying that the forum is no longer merely a space for dialogue, but a platform for implementation, partnership building, and achieving impact in priority sectors.
Director of CfE at the College of Business and Economics, Dr. Khalid Al Hashimi, highlighted that this forum marks a pivotal phase in the global economy, emphasizing that it offers a critical platform for business leaders and policymakers to debate the driving forces of economic transformation, with a clear focus on implementation and transforming orientations and policies into pioneering and scalable projects with impact.
