Kyiv, February 01 (QNA) - Ukraine's military said Russian forces have suffered more than 1.24 million killed or wounded since the start of the full-scale war nearly three years ago.
In a statement on Sunday, Ukraine's General Staff said total Russian military casualties had reached approximately 1,240,680 since the war began on Feb. 24, 2022. It added that 1,090 Russian soldiers were killed or injured over the past 24 hours alone.
The Ukrainian military also reported extensive losses of Russian equipment since the beginning of the conflict. According to the statement, Ukrainian forces have destroyed 11,625 tanks, 23,980 armored combat vehicles, and 36,777 artillery systems.
The figures further include the destruction of 1,632 multiple-launch rocket systems, 1,290 air defense systems, 435 military aircraft, and 347 helicopters. Ukraine also claims to have shot down more than 120,000 drones and destroyed 4,205 cruise missiles.
Naval losses reported by Kyiv include 28 warships and two submarines, alongside more than 76,000 vehicles and fuel tanks, and over 4,000 units of specialized military equipment.
Moscow has not commented on the latest figures.
Russia and Ukraine have regularly released daily updates on battlefield losses since the start of the war, which has now entered its fourth year. However, the claims made by both sides cannot be independently verified due to ongoing fighting and restricted access to combat zones. (QNA)
