Russia Says its Troops Took Over New Villages in Eastern Ukraine
Moscow, February 01 (QNA) - The Russian troops have taken over the villages of Zelinovye in Kharkiv Oblast and Sukhitskoye in Donetsk Oblast, eastern Ukraine, the Russian Defense Ministry announced in a statement on Sunday.
The statement added that the Russian forces inflicted casualties on the Ukrainian troops on multiple combat fronts in the special military operation over the past 24 hours, totaling 1,085 troops, mostly fatalities and injuries.
Multiple Ukrainian military vehicles were knocked out, with Russian air defense forces shooting down 94 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems), and 4 guided aerial bombs, the statement read.
Over the past several weeks, Russia has declared that its troops have made breakthroughs on several combat fronts and captured numerous new areas in eastern Ukraine, concomitantly with the ongoing US-led peace talks aimed at reaching a ceasefire between the two countries. (QNA)
