Arab League Calls for Swift Implementation of Gaza Peace Phase Two
New Delhi, January 31 (QNA) - The Arab League on Saturday stressed the importance of acting immediately to implement the gains of the second phase of the peace plan in the Gaza Strip.
It added that what matters most is to never allow the Israeli occupation to hinder this process.
This came in opening remarks delivered Saturday by Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit, before the Second Ministerial Meeting of the Arab-Indian Cooperation Forum, convened in New Delhi, India.
Over the past two years, the Arab region has witnessed a war that exceeded all limits of ethics and humanity, with the Israelis unleashing war on the Gaza Strip, claiming the lives of almost 72,000 Palestinians, Aboul Gheit noted.
With respect to this forum, Aboul Gheit expressed hope that it would yield positive outcomes representing a watershed moment on the pathway toward building a strategic relationship that contributes to achieving prosperity and welfare for the peoples of both sides.
He highlighted Arab-Indian coordination in international fora on issues of shared concern, based on mutual confidence, in pursuit of a more pluralistic world founded on the principle of justice, not the logic of power. (QNA)
