Middle East Council on Global Affairs Selected on OTT Think Tanks to Watch 2026
Doha, November 08 (QNA) - Doha-based Middle East Council on Global Affairs has been selected among On Think Tanks (OTT) Think Tanks to Watch 2026, a list featuring 55 research institutions from around the world, reflecting the council's growing international presence and its role in enriching political and strategic discussions on Middle East issues and global systemic transformations.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the council stated that the selection comes in recognition of its ongoing trajectory as an independent research institution dedicated to providing in-depth insights and analyses on regional and international challenges, contributing to the development of public policy debates, and strengthening communication among researchers, experts, and policymakers.
The council explained that this selection mirrors the expanding scope of international institutional interest in regional research output, alongside its capacity to offer approaches that enhance understanding of Middle East complexities and global interactions, interpret and forecast their trajectories, and reformulate questions shaping policies across various levels.
The Middle East Council on Global Affairs was selected as part of the annual initiative organized by On Think Tanks (OTT), UK-based international platform established in 2010 that specializes in studying think tanks, supporting their institutional development, enhancing research and administrative capacities, and expanding collaborative networks through specialized studies, training programs, and international initiatives.
"Think Tanks to Watch 2026" initiative aims to spotlight research institutions offering notable experiences, contributions, and practices worthy of international attention, based on nominations and assessments from the global think tank community and subject-matter experts.
The council affirmed its commitment to advancing its regional and international standing through the publication of specialized studies, policy papers, and analyses; organizing seminars and dialogues bringing together elite researchers, experts, and officials; participating in international intellectual forums; and expanding partnerships with research and academic institutions worldwide to provide new platforms for discussing issues impacting regional security, stability, and future international relations.
The council noted that its inclusion in this list reinforces Doha's position as a hub for dialogue, knowledge production, and the exchange of ideas, while bolstering investment in independent research institutions to build knowledge partnerships and engage in shaping global transformations through region-rooted intellectual bodies.
