QSTP, TotalEnergies Conclude WaterTech Accelerator Program with 11 Startups
Doha, November 05 (QNA) - Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP), a member of Qatar Foundation, in partnership with TotalEnergies, has hosted the Final Showcase of the QSTP X TotalEnergies WaterTech Accelerator at QSTP in Doha.
"Following its virtual phase," QSTP said in a statement, "the accelerator brought its cohort of 11 growth-stage WaterTech startups to Qatar for the Doha Immersion Week, connecting founders with the country's water, research and innovation ecosystem".
It added: "The participating companies are developing solutions to address a range of water challenges, from generating drinking water from atmospheric moisture and recovering water and valuable resources from industrial brine, to reducing water losses and advancing water quality monitoring".
The program included visits to the Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI) Water Center for a laboratory tour, TotalEnergies' offices and Msheireb Downtown Doha to explore its Smart City infrastructure.
Founders also engaged with representatives from Earthna, Kahramaa and Ashghal through discussions and networking sessions, exploring Qatar's water priorities and potential opportunities for collaboration and piloting.
The Final Showcase brought the cohort together with industry leaders, investors and ecosystem stakeholders. Featuring a fireside chat with TotalEnergies and presentations from the participating founders, the event highlighted the technologies developed throughout the accelerator and their potential relevance to Qatar's water priorities.
It also provided an opportunity to explore their practical applications and pathways for future pilots and partnerships.
Head of Climate Program at QSTP Moza Al Naemi said: "The accelerator reflects the importance of bringing technology innovators closer to industry and the markets they aim to serve. Through the Doha Immersion Week, we have created opportunities for meaningful engagement between the founders and Qatar's water ecosystem, helping connect promising technologies with local priorities and exploring pathways for their application".
She added: "This is an important step towards advancing solutions that can contribute to the future of water sustainability in Qatar and across the region."
Following the Doha engagement, the accelerator will continue with an immersion week in Morocco from 16 to 18 November, providing founders with further opportunities to connect with regional stakeholders and explore opportunities for collaboration across the WANA region. (QNA)
