Doha, November 04 (QNA) - Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has concluded a livelihood project for poor families in Gaza, at a total cost of USD 234,000, as part of its ongoing efforts to reduce unemployment rates and strengthen the Palestinian population's resilience.

The project targeted two main tracks. The first focused on qualifying 60 male and female graduates and providing them with specialized skills in digital marketing, graphic design, mobile app development, and the use of artificial intelligence, in addition to providing an incubation and field training period that qualified them to work as online freelancers and provide services to clients outside the Strip.

The second track was dedicated to providing temporary jobs for 23 male and female graduates in psychosocial support for the most vulnerable groups at displacement camps and shelters, with a number of them successfully securing permanent employment contracts with the Atfaluna Society for Deaf Children (ASDC), thanks to their professional competence.

Head of QRCS's representation office in Gaza, Dr. Akram Nassar, explained that the project represents a targeted and direct response to reducing unemployment by investing in human resources and empowering them to enter the digital labor market.

For their part, several beneficiary graduates affirmed that the training enabled them to explore modern technologies and work applications through which they began providing their services to international partners and securing an independent source of income.

Meanwhile, QRCS announced preparations to launch a similar empowerment project soon to mitigate the economic impact of war, alongside opening donations to support an agricultural project at a cost of QAR 6.4 million, targeting 600 farmer families through land reclamation, installation of greenhouses, solar energy systems and irrigation networks, and establishment of 500 productive home gardens.
