Paris Saint-Germain Marks 15 Years of Transformation Under Al Khelaifi's Presidency
Paris, November 04 (QNA) - Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has undergone a major transformation over the past 15 years, following its acquisition by Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) in 2011 and the appointment of HE Nasser Al Khelaifi as club president on November 4 of the same year.
Since then, the French club has developed into one of the world's leading sporting institutions, achieving significant growth across sporting, commercial and economic sectors.
On the pitch, PSG has won 43 of its 61 major trophies during Al Khelaifi's presidency, including back-to-back UEFA Champions League titles in 2025 and 2026, becoming the first French club to achieve the feat. The club has also won a record 11 French league titles, while its various sporting teams have collected 87 trophies.
Investment in youth development has been another key priority, highlighted by the opening of the EUR 350 million PSG Training Center in November 2024. The facility accommodates the men's and women's first teams as well as youth squads, helping develop talents including Warren Zaire-Emery, Senny Mayulu and Ibrahim Mbaye.
Economically, PSG's revenue has increased ninefold, from EUR 99 million in the 2010-11 season to more than EUR 800 million in 2024-25. The club's commercial revenue reached EUR 367 million during the same season, while Forbes estimated its market value at EUR 5.8 billion in 2025, compared with approximately EUR 70 million in 2011.
The club has also expanded its international footprint, surpassing 250 million social media followers and establishing a presence in nearly 100 countries, supported by 14 official stores and 209 academy training locations across 25 countries.
Beyond football, PSG's community programs have benefited around 240,000 children and young people through approximately 7,200 initiatives, while fulfilling 9,000 wishes for children with serious illnesses.
The club's achievements have also earned international recognition, including the Ballon d'Or Club of the Year award in 2025 and 2026 and the Laureus World Team of the Year award in 2021 and 2026.
QSI has invested approximately EUR 2 billion in PSG in France since 2011, with the project contributing to the creation of around 2,400 full-time jobs.
Al Khelaifi, who also serves as president of the European Football Clubs (EFC) and sits on the UEFA Executive Committee, has received several individual honors for his leadership and contribution to football.
Fifteen years after the acquisition, PSG continues to pursue a strategy centered on sporting success, youth development, commercial growth and strengthening its position on the international stage. (QNA)
