Doha, October 31 (QNA) - Al Rayyan and Qatar SC secured victories over Al Ahli and Al Gharafa, respectively, in the Qatar Men's Basketball League for the 2026-27 season on Saturday.
Al Rayyan defeated Al Ahli 106-85 in the first game, played at Al Gharafa Sports Club Hall.
The quarter-by-quarter scores were 25-17, 27-27, 32-15 and 22-26, giving Al Rayyan the overall victory.
Abdulla Yassin Mousa led Al Rayyan's scoring with 23 points, while Hamza Mohammed Al Attar was Al Ahli's top scorer with 22.
The victory took Al Rayyan to five points from three games, level with Al Ahli, who have played four matches.
In the second game, Qatar SC defeated Al Gharafa 97-84 after the contest went into overtime.
The scores across the four regulation quarters were 24-13, 19-20, 18-21 and 20-27, before Qatar SC dominated the extra period 16-3.
Dejan Janjic was Qatar SC's standout performer, leading all scorers with 30 points. He also recorded 12 rebounds and seven assists.
For Al Gharafa, J'Von McCormick led the scoring with 24 points, while adding 11 rebounds and 10 assists.
The victory lifted Qatar SC to four points from three games, while Al Gharafa moved to six points from four matches.
The men's league continues Sunday with a postponed third-round fixture between Al Sadd and Al Arabi at the Basketball Federation Hall. Qatar SC will then face Al Ahli on Monday in a postponed second-round match. (QNA)
