Doha, October 08 (QNA) - Al Noor Center for the Blind, one of the centers affiliated with the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, marked World Sight Day and White Cane Day as part of its "Their light is among us" initiative.

Speaking on the occasion, Al Noor Center Executive Director Mishaal Al Nuaimi said the two occasions highlight complementary priorities: protecting eye health through prevention and early detection, and affirming the rights of people with visual disabilities to independence, mobility and full participation in society.

He noted that the white cane is not merely a mobility aid, but an important tool for independence, enabling people with visual disabilities to access facilities and services with confidence and safety.

This, he added, requires accessible environments and institutional practices that support accessibility, participation and inclusion. (QNA)
