Riyadh, October 05 (QNA) - The 5th Annual International Conference of the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL) concluded in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, under the theme Arabic Language and Culture: Intersections and Dimensions, with the participation of researchers and specialists in language and culture.

In their recommendations, participants called for strengthening the presence of Arabic across cultural, intellectual, and digital spheres. They emphasized the importance of linguistic studies examining the relationship between Arabic and cultural identity, as well as its role in heritage, collective memory, and creative and cultural texts and discourses.

They also called for expanding research into the presence of Arabic beyond the Arab world, examining its influence on other languages, cultures, literatures, and international institutions, and highlighting its role in cross-cultural communication.

In the conference’s closing statement, participants called for enriching cultural content in Arabic language education programs, particularly those designed for non-native speakers. They also stressed the need to focus on educational materials, digital platforms, and programs that combine linguistic proficiency with communicative competence.

The statement further called for supporting applied research in digital culture and artificial intelligence, including identity representation, cultural knowledge, Arabic content creation, large language models, and monitoring bias in digital and generative environments.

It underscored the need for integrating language planning with cultural policies and supporting national legislation and strategies that safeguard the status of Arabic and expand its presence across cultural, intellectual, and digital domains.

The participants also called for continued scholarly dialogue and cooperation among linguistic, cultural, educational, and media institutions, researchers, and policymakers to exchange expertise and develop joint initiatives serving the Arabic language across its diverse cultural contexts.
