Doha 2030 CEO Affirms Commitment to Hosting Games Befitting Qatar, Asi
Nagoya, Japan, October 04 (QNA) - CEO of the Doha 2030 Asian Games Organizing Committee Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Al Buainain affirmed that the handover of the Asian Games flag in Nagoya, Japan, marks a significant milestone for the State of Qatar and the official launch of preparations to host the major continental sporting event.
Speaking on the sidelines of the ceremony during which Qatar received the Asian Games flag, Dr. Al Buainain said that with the transfer of the flag from Aichi-Nagoya to Doha, Qatar assumes full responsibility for ensuring optimal preparations to welcome athletes, teams, officials, and fans from across Asia. He expressed his appreciation for the achievements and successes of Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Games, along with a deep sense of responsibility for the upcoming phase.
The Organizing Committee CEO emphasized that athletes remain at the heart of the vision and preparations, noting that Doha aims to deliver an inspiring experience that enables athletes to compete and connect while inspiring future generations. He added that the goal is to create an environment where every visitor and participant feels an integral part of the Games.
He explained that the Doha 2030 Games are fundamentally anchored in the sustainable legacy of the Doha 2006 Games, noting that the journey ahead will be shaped by stronger partnerships and close cooperation with the Olympic Council of Asia, National Olympic Committees, all stakeholders, and the wider Asian sports community as preparations progress.
Dr. Al Buainain affirmed the Organizing Committee's commitment to hosting Games that reflect the stature of both Qatar and the Asian continent and delivering an exceptional event that combines sporting excellence, cultural connection, and authentic Qatari hospitality.
