Referee Appointments for 27th Gulf Cup Semi-Finals Announced
Jeddah, October 02 (QNA) - The Referees Committee of the Gulf Football Federation has announced the referee appointments for the two semi-final matches of 27th Gulf Cup, which is hosted by Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, until October 6.
The Committee appointed Portuguese referee João Pinheiro to officiate the Saudi Arabia vs Qatar match at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium. He will be assisted by his compatriots Pedro Ribeiro and Luciano Maia, while Bahrain's Ammar Mahfoodh will serve as fourth official and his compatriot Mohammed Jaafar Salman as fifth official.
For the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) team, China's Fu Ming has been appointed as VAR, with Kuwait's Abdullah Arab as Assistant VAR, while the UAE's Hamad Al Mazrouei will serve as referee assessor.
The second semi-final, between the United Arab Emirates and Oman at Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium, will be officiated by Dutch referee Danny Makkelie, assisted by his compatriots Hessel Steegstra and Jan de Vries. Iraq's Zaid Thamer will serve as fourth official, while his compatriot Haider Abdulhassan will serve as fifth official.
For VAR, the Netherlands' Erwin Blank has been appointed as VAR, with Bahrain's Ismail Habib as Assistant VAR, while Saudi Arabia's Abdulrahman Al Omari will serve as referee assessor. (QNA)
