The qualification process concludes on November 12 with the men's and women's trap events.
The championships will feature leading international and Olympic shooters, with competitors seeking both world titles and early qualification for Los Angeles 2028.
Qatar's hosting of the event builds on Doha's standing as a venue for major international shooting competitions, supported by modern facilities and established organizational and technical expertise.
Preparations aim to provide optimal conditions for athletes, technical teams and participating delegations.
Secretary-General the Qatar Shooting and Archery Association Jassim Al Sulaiti said the Association has nearly completed its preparations to host the World Shooting Championships at Lusail Shooting Complex from November 1 to 14, with 36 Olympic qualification places for Los Angeles 2028 at stake.
Al Sulaiti told Qatar News Agency (QNA) that Lusail was ready to welcome leading world and Olympic shooters competing in rifle, pistol and shotgun events.
He stressed that the championships represented an important milestone for Qatari shooting, given the high technical level expected and the scale of international participation. The 36 Olympic quota places across 12 individual events are expected to intensify competition.
Qatar will field 22 shooters, who aim to deliver strong performances, contend for medals and secure Olympic qualification places, Al Sulaiti said, adding that the national team had completed training camps and competed in international and continental events, most recently the Asian Games in Japan, as part of its preparations.
He added that the technical and administrative teams were working to ensure the shooters were fully prepared, expressing confidence in Qatar's organizational capabilities and Lusail's facilities.
Al Sulaiti said Qatar's experience in hosting major international competitions, along with its advanced infrastructure, would help deliver a successful championship.
He expressed hope that the national team would achieve strong results and that Doha would host an event reflecting Qatar's capabilities in organizing major sporting competitions. (QNA)
