Beirut, October 14 (QNA) - Lebanon's Army Commander General Rodolphe Haykal met today with United Nations' (UN) Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix, who is currently visiting Beirut.

The two sides discussed developments in Lebanon and the region. Haykal and Lacroix emphasized the key role of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in efforts made to return stability in Southern Lebanon.

They also discussed the importance of finding alternatives following the termination of the UNIFIL that will negatively affect stability. (QNA)
