Jordan's King, Malaysian PM Hold Bilateral Meeting on Regional Developments, Ties
Kuala Lumpur, October 12 (QNA) - King Abdullah II of Jordan and Malaysian Prime Minister Dr. Anwar Ibrahim met in Kuala Lumpur on Monday to discuss the evolving regional situation and efforts being made to achieve peace and stability, as well as ways to strengthen bilateral relationship.
King Abdullah emphasized that Jordan is committed to efforts to promote peace and stability both regionally and globally and to supporting diplomatic endeavors to resolve conflicts, protect civilians, and deliver humanitarian aid to them. He stressed the importance of close cooperation with Malaysia in this respect.
What is required is coordination within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to rally a powerful global position to halt Israel’s grave actions in the West Bank and violations at Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, King Abdullah said.
For his part, the Malaysian prime minister noted the strength of Malaysia-Jordan relationship and their keen interest in boosting bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of technology and defense. (QNA)
