Qatar Participates in Arab League Follow Up Meeting on Ending Violence Against Children
Doha, October 11 (QNA) – The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF), participated on Sunday in the opening meeting of the 22nd session of the League of Arab States' Committee of the Follow Up on Ending Violence Against Children, held via video conference.
In her address, Assistant Director of the MSDF's Family Development Department Nouf Ibrahim Al Abdullah outlined Qatar's efforts to protect children and promote their rights. She stressed the importance of continued cooperation and coordination to provide a safe and supportive environment for children to grow and to protect them from all forms of violence.
She highlighted Qatar's active role in supporting international peace and stability and its contributions to the peaceful resolution of conflicts through dialogue and mediation. She also underscored the significance of these efforts in mitigating the humanitarian consequences of conflicts, particularly their impact on children and families.
Al Abdullah reaffirmed Qatar's commitment to safeguarding children's rights, dignity and safety, supporting initiatives to combat all forms of violence against them, and promoting cooperation and the exchange of expertise and best practices in child protection.
She also reiterated Qatar's support for the resolutions to be adopted at the Committee's 22nd session, which aim to strengthen joint efforts to protect children, uphold their rights and ensure their safety.
The participation reflects the Ministry of Social Development and Family's commitment to strengthening the child protection system and highlights the need for joint action to address challenges related to violence against children, contributing to their safety, stability and well-being. (QNA)
