Kuwait Strongly Condemns Houthi Attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh
Kuwait, October 11 (QNA) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the blatant attack launched by the Houthi group against King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday, which resulted in deaths and injuries among innocent civilians, including travelers and airport staff of Saudi and various other nationalities, and led to the temporary suspension of airport operations.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry affirmed that this heinous and cowardly attack constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law. It also stated that the recurrence of such systematic hostile acts, targeting civilian property and vital facilities, represents a dangerous escalation and a direct threat to air traffic and civilian safety, necessitating that those responsible be held accountable.
The State of Kuwait reiterated its absolute solidarity with, and firm support to, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and its backing of all measures taken to safeguard its security and stability and to protect its citizens and residents, affirming that the Kingdom’s security is an integral part of the security of the State of Kuwait and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.
It called upon the international community to shoulder its responsibilities and adopt a firm stance regarding these repeated attacks, in a manner that ensures the protection of civilian property and civil aviation facilities, prevents their recurrence, and guarantees that the perpetrators do not go unpunished.
