Israeli Airstrikes and Artillery Attacks Continue in Southern Lebanon
Beirut, October 01 (QNA) - Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon continued Thursday, with airstrikes, artillery shelling and machine-gun fire targeting areas across the south.
Lebanon's National News Agency reported that Israeli aircraft struck the outskirts of Zawtar Al-Sharqiyah toward Mayfadoun, while Ali Al-Taher hill on the outskirts of Nabatieh Al-Fawqa came under intermittent artillery fire.
Israeli forces also swept the town of Haddatha in the Bint Jbeil district with machine-gun fire as their military vehicles moved through the town.
These developments come amid continued tensions and escalation along Lebanon’s southern border, with concerns over the widening scope of the attacks and the continued targeting of residential areas.
Lebanon and the Israeli entity signed a US-mediated framework agreement last June, providing for security arrangements that include the gradual deployment of the Lebanese army and the withdrawal of occupation forces, alongside measures related to reconstruction and economic recovery. However, implementation of its provisions continues to face obstacles. (QNA)
