Doha, January 31 (QNA) - The State of Qatar has welcomed the Syrian government's announcement of reaching an agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on a ceasefire, as part of a comprehensive agreement, with an understanding on a phased integration of military and administrative forces between the two sides. Qatar commended the effective efforts of the friendly United States of America, which contributed to reaching the agreement.

In a statement issued Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Qatar's hope that the agreement would contribute to consolidating civil peace and enhancing security and stability in the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic.

The Statement reiterated that Syria's stability and prosperity require the state to have a monopoly on the use of force in a single army that represents all Syrian components, thus guaranteeing the preservation of the country's sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.

The Ministry also reaffirmed the State of Qatar's full support for Syria's sovereignty and unity and the aspirations of its brotherly people for stability, development, and prosperity. (QNA)
