Gaza, January 31 (QNA) -The death toll among Palestinians in the Gaza Strip rose to 31 on Saturday following intense airstrikes and shelling carried out by the Israeli occupation army across various parts of the territory.

Medical sources in Gaza reported that 24 of the victims were brought to hospitals in Gaza City and northern Gaza, while seven others were reported in Khan Younis in the south, in addition to dozens of injured individuals.

Spokesperson for the Civil Defense in Gaza, Mahmoud Basal, stated that 31 people were martyred since this morning due to Israeli air raids, including an entire family wiped out in Khan Younis. He added that most of the casualties were women and children and warned that Gaza's healthcare system has completely collapsed under the ongoing siege and Israeli measures, leaving no functioning humanitarian infrastructure in the territory.

Earlier reports indicated that 13 Palestinians, including civilians and members of the Palestinian police, were martyred when Israeli occupation forces targeted a police station in western Gaza City. Three others died in an airstrike on a home in Al-Nasr neighborhood, five were martyred in a strike on an apartment in western Gaza City, including children and women, and seven members of one family died in an attack on a displaced persons' tent in Khan Younis.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Saturday that the overall casualties from the Israeli aggression since October 7, 2023, have reached 71,769 dead and 171,483 injured.

Violations of the ceasefire agreement, which came into effect in October, continue, with Israeli forces conducting aerial raids, artillery shelling, and attacks using drones and other military vehicles, alongside the demolition of civilian homes. These assaults have resulted in hundreds of additional deaths and injuries, adding to the hundreds of thousands of Palestinians killed, injured, missing, or displaced since the escalation of hostilities in October 2023.
