Qatar Participates in 6th OECD Global Forum on VAT
Paris, January 29 (QNA) - The State of Qatar participated in the sixth meeting of the OECD Global Forum on VAT in the French capital, Paris, which was organized by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development from Jan. 26 to 28, 2026.
The Qatari delegation to the meeting was headed by HE President of the General Tax Authority Khalifa bin Jassim Al Jaham Al Kuwari.
The forum is a high-level international platform that brings together senior officials from tax administrations around the world to discuss the design and implementation of value added tax (VAT/GST) systems, exchanging expertise in addressing challenges related to the digital economy, e-commerce, crypto-assets, and artificial intelligence, as well as reviewing best practices aimed at enhancing tax compliance and managing tax risks.
The General Tax Authority said that the State of Qatar’s participation in this meeting affirms its commitment to strengthening international cooperation in the field of tax policy and exchanging expertise in a manner that contributes to improving the efficiency of domestic tax systems, in addition to supporting international efforts to modernize tax frameworks in line with evolving economic and technological developments.
