Doha, January 25 (QNA) - Under the patronage of HE Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the Joint Tactical Exercise of the security agencies of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) (Arabian Gulf Security 4), was launched today in Qatar.
The opening ceremony was attended by HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Abdullah bin Khalaf bin Hattab Al Kaabi; Assistant Secretary-General for Security Affairs at the GCC General Secretariat Brigadier-General Hamad Ajlan Al Amim; Their Excellencies the heads of the exercise's higher committees in the GCC countries; and a number of security leaders, officers, and representatives of the participating security agencies.
The exercise will continue until Feb. 4, with the participation of security agencies and forces from the GCC states along with specialized security units from the United States of America. It includes the execution of more than 70 training scenarios, totaling over 260 hours of intensive field training.
The exercise aims to raise the level of security readiness, enhance integration and field coordination, and test the efficiency of operational plans and response mechanisms, reflecting the high level of professionalism and advanced ability of the Gulf security agencies to deal with various security challenges.
