Syrian Military Announces Seizure of Two Oil Fields in Northern Syria
Damascus, January 17 (QNA) - The Syrian military forces have taken over the Safyan Oil Field, the Al‑Rusafa Junction, and the Al‑Thawra Oil Field near the city of Tabqa in northern Syria, which had been under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the Operations Directorate of the Syrian Arab Army reported in a statement on Saturday.
The statement added that the military is currently advancing toward Tabqa Military Airbase from multiple fronts to take control of the area and dislodge PKK militants and remnants of the erstwhile regime.
Earlier today, the Syrian military captured Deir Hafer and Maskanah towns, as well as 34 towns in the eastern Aleppo countryside in northern Syria. (QNA)
