Doha, September 28 (QNA) - The Cultural Village Foundation - Katara has hosted the inauguration ceremony of the "Creative Qatar Tourism" book authored by Mouza Abdulaziz Al Ishaq to mark World Tourism Day, which annually falls on Sept. 27.

Those in attendance were several ambassadors, heads of diplomatic missions, media practitioners, as well as those interested in tourism sector.

The book is literally a media and documentary reference, which enables researchers, students, and journalists to track the evolutionary stages of Qatari tourism through a direct experience and on-the-ground engagement with events and activities.

The genre offers an overarching vision for tourism's future within sustainable development. It includes 73 articles the author published between 2013 and 2024, which sharply focus on the tourism sector in Qatar and the region, alongside a visually rich compendium featuring an array of photographs, accolades, and influential personalities who have shaped the path of tourism transformation over the past decade.

Those articles track the evolutionary stages since the launch of Qatar National Vision 2030 (QNV 2030), from hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 to attaining a stage of maturity reflected in global accolades and a leading position across international benchmarks.

Documenting women's success stories, along with innovations in green tourism and digital transformation, the genre covers major events such as Expo 2023 Doha, as well as numerous conferences and exhibitions.

The writer broadly presented an overall vision for tourism philosophy in Qatar, pitching the diversity of the tourism sector in terms of sustainable culture, sports, and events festivals, with tourism media positioning itself as a core pillar in the development strategy, not merely for promotion, but rather for its contribution to illuminating the achieved milestones and Qatar's forward-looking and enlightened profile derived from QNV 2030, said General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation, Katara, Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti.

Al Sulaiti added that Katara, as a unique cultural and tourism icon in Qatar and the region, has succeeded in morphing into a microcosm and space where arts, heritage, and innovation converge.

Katara has contributed to crafting a quintessential model for cultural tourism that fuses identity, overture, culture, and economy with a sophisticated infrastructure that combines investment with content, he highlighted.

For his part, HE Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Faisal Global for Culture and Knowledge, Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al-Thani, said these articles drilled down on pivotal subjects, foremost of which are the role undertaken by the Qataris in building a model for cultural tourism throughout the World Cup 2022, entrepreneurship in tourism innovation, and the Qatari diplomatic presence in promoting the nation's image as a global destination.

HE Sheikh Faisal added that the writer cast a commanding spotlight on the connection of tourism culture with the preparations for the World Cup, along with the tenets of hospitality and magnanimous values, the epitome of the Qatari community.

He averred that the local legacy was strongly present in welcoming visitors from various nations of the world.

Al Ishaq, for her part, expressed profound gratification to Katara for championing Qatari innovation, affirming that the book aligns with the motto of this year's World Tourism Day, which laser-focuses on sustainable development, environmental protection, and supporting the economy and community amid the vicissitudes occurring around the globe.

The book is the product of long journey and interest in the tourism sector. It broadly intends to pitch the role media performs in supporting QNV 2030 and diversifying the economy through deepening Qatar's positive image on the global stage, she underlined.

Al Ishaq further noted the role of tourism media as a pivotal vehicle to apprise the world of the Qatari tourism components, which have dramatically thrived throughout recent years. (QNA)
