Doha, September 27 (QNA) - Qatar SC were held to a 1-1 draw by Al Shamal, courtesy of a last-gasp penalty goal by Omid Ebrahimi in the concluding Week 6 match of 2025-2026 season Doha Bank Stars League at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium of Al Rayyan club on Saturday.

The encounter threw up some of the best performances ever seen in recent times from the two sides, but despite their several attempts at hitting the bull’s eye, the situation remained unchanged throughout the first half with no breakthrough from either side.

Things, however, took a different turn in the 58th minute, though in an unexpected manner, as Al Shamal’s Mowafak Awad mistakenly gave Qatar SC the opening goal as he turned the ball into his own net while attempting to clear a tricky cross from Eisa Palangi.

A penalty decision for Al Shamal for a seemingly foul on Baghdad Bounedjah was overturned by VAR in the 85th minute while another call late in injury time however stood as Omid scored from the spot in nine minutes of added time to ensure an even share of the points. (QNA)
