Rabat, September 24 (QNA) - The Qatari national shooting team clinched a total of three medals, two golds and one silver, during their meritorious performance at the ongoing Arab Shotgun Championship held in Tangier, Morocco.

The contest featured events in both skeet and trap disciplines across men's, women's, and mixed team categories.

Rashid Saleh Al Athba delivered a standout performance, capturing the gold medal in the Men's Skeet Individual competition. On the women's side, Hajar Ghulam Mohammed secured the gold medal in the Women's Skeet Individual event. In addition, the men's skeet team, comprising Rashid Saleh Al Athba, Mohamed Al-Kuwari, and Abdulaziz Al Attiya, earned the silver medal in the Men's Skeet Team event.

The upcoming segment of the championship will witness the commencement of the trap shooting events, running from Thursday, Sept. 25, through Sept. 27, 2025.

This prestigious regional tournament features 60 elite marksmen and markswomen representing eight countries: Morocco (host nation), Qatar, Bahrain, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Lebanon, and Oman. The championship is scheduled to conclude on Sept. 28.

Head of the Qatari Delegation and Director of the Skeet Shooting Program, Ahmed Khaled Al Darwish, expressed his gratification for the Qatari shooters' accomplishments, highlighting the fierce competition in the skeet events and noting that the Qatari athletes delivered consistently high-level performances.

The shooters were determined to ascend the podium and proudly unfurl the Qatari flag at this meritorious Arab sporting event, Al Darwish told Qatar News Agency (QNA), emphasizing that securing gold medals in both Men's and Women's Individual Skeet, along with the silver in the Men's Team Skeet, stands as a testament to their dedication and skill.

Al Darwish further indicated that participation in the Arab Championship serves as an excellent preparatory platform ahead of the upcoming World Shotgun Championship in Greece, scheduled in three weeks. He expressed optimism for continued success in the trap events starting tomorrow, aiming for additional podium finishes.

The Qatari delegation in Tangier includes:
