Moscow, September 22 (QNA) - Russia reaffirmed on Monday its support for the two-state solution as the only viable option for resolving the Palestinian issue.

In a press statement, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said the only way to end the Palestinian - Israeli conflict is through a two-state solution, stressing the need to adhere to UN Security Council resolutions and the international stance on the matter.

Peskov noted that the Palestinian - Israeli conflict is currently witnessing the most intense and tragic phase in its entire history.

This comes as Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom officially recognized the State of Palestine yesterday, Sunday, while other countries pledged to extend recognition during the current session of the United Nations General Assembly. (QNA)
