Doha, August 09 (QNA) - Qatar Social and Cultural Center for Blind (QSCCB), of the Ministry of Culture, has organized an awareness lecture on techniques used for managing psychological stress and overcoming daily tensions, as part of its commitment to promoting mental awareness and psychological well-being among its members.

The event was attended by a group of members and individuals interested in psychological support.

The lecture is part of a series of awareness activities regularly held by the center, based on its belief that mental health is a fundamental pillar of quality of life, especially for individuals with visual impairments.

Advisor to the Qatar Foundation For Rehabilitation Of Special Needs Dr. Tarek Al Eisawi delivered the lecture.

He explained the concept and sources of psychological stress, describing it as a state of emotional tension and pressure caused by internal or external situations that affect an individual's emotions, behavior, and mental health.

He highlighted common psychological disorders such as depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder, while also addressing the mental health realities faced by the blind community, emphasizing the need for appropriate psychological support.

The lecture discussed key indicators of psychological disorders, including severe mood and behavioral changes, difficulty interacting with others, recurring negative thoughts, and unexplained physical symptoms.

Practical advice was offered for coping with daily stress, including deep breathing techniques, regular exercise and meditation, improving sleep quality, maintaining a balanced diet, engaging in positive social interactions, prioritizing tasks, and practicing self-compassion. (QNA)
