Qatar to Partake in LGCT in London

Doha, August 05 (QNA) - The Qatari equestrian team are getting ready to participate in the 9th round of the Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) and Global Champions League (GCL), which will take place in London from August 8 to 10, featuring an elite lineup of the world's top showjumpers.

Representing Qatar are the Doha Falcons, comprising Qatari riders Sheikh Ali bin Khalid Al-Thani, Bassem Hassan Mohammed, and Rashid Towaim Al Marri, alongside Belgian talents, Wilm Vermeirآ and Jerome Guery, in addition to Italian Giacomo Casadei, who together form a well-balanced and experience team of high-level skill.

Qatari rider Bassem Hassan Mohammed will also compete in the five-star individual competition, where he will go head-to-head with some of the sport's biggest stars, including Britain's Scott Brash, a three-time London winner, his compatriot Ben Maher, also a three-time Grand Prix champion, and the current London Grand Prix titleholder, Harry Charles.

Eight rounds in, Belgian equestrian Gilles Thomas leads the overall standings with 183 points, followed by France's Simon Delestre with 158 points, and Germany's Andreas Schou in third place with 126 points. (QNA)
