QAF Announces Training Camp in Germany for Relay, Sprint Teams Ahead of World Championships
Doha, August 05 (QNA) - The Qatar Athletics Federation (QAF) has announced the organization of a preparatory training camp for relay race runners (4x400 meters and 4x100 meters) and short-distance sprinters.
The camp will be held in Cologne, Germany, under the supervision of a group of specialized coaches in these events.
In a statement issued Tuesday, the Federation explained that the camp aims to prepare the various relay teams through technical applications in starting and speed, in addition to specific techniques for baton exchange between runners.
This preparation is in anticipation of participation in the World Athletics Championships scheduled to take place in Tokyo next month.
Qatar’s relay teams include a group of distinguished national team runners across multiple events, most notably Abderrahman Samba, Ammar Ismail, Bassem Hemeida, Ashraf Osman, and Hatim Hameed.
The Qatari 4x400 meter relay team is currently the best in Asia, having won the gold medal at the Asian Championships held in South Korea last June with the continent’s best recorded time of 3:03.53 minutes. (QNA
