Doha, August 30 (QNA) - The Qatar Basketball Federation (QBF) announced Saturday that Al Arabi and Al Rayyan will participate in the 37th edition of the Arab Men's Club Basketball Championship, hosted by Al Nasr Club in the United Arab Emirates from September 25 to October 6.

Both Qatari clubs await the official draw, scheduled for Sunday, September 7, which will be held remotely to determine the groupings. The technical meeting for the tournament will take place in Dubai, one day before the competition begins.

The championship will feature 16 clubs, including Al Arabi and Al Rayyan from Qatar, Kuwait, Kazma, and Qadsia from Kuwait; Al Wahda and Homs Al-Fida from Syria; Shaab Hadramout and Al Mina from Yemen.

It will also feature Al Bashaer and Al Seeb from Oman; Al Hikma and Antonine from Lebanon; Ahli Tripoli from Libya; Al Manama from Bahrain; and Al Nasr, the host club.

The organizing committee has introduced a new amendment to the foreign player participation rules, allowing each team to register three professional players.

This replaces the previous system, which permitted only two foreign players and one Arab player, thereby enhancing competition and raising the technical level of the tournament. (QNA)
