Moscow, August 17 (QNA) - The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) announced Sunday that it had thwarted a Ukrainian drone attack on a nuclear plant southwest of Russia.

Russia's cyberwarfare forces downed a Ukrainian combat drone over the Smolensk Nuclear Power Plant, the FSB said in a statement.

The Russian authorities shared footage that seemed to have been captured from the engagement site.

Since Feb. 24, 2022, Russia and Ukraine have been trading statements, with each side claiming to have repelled attacks by the other without independent verification of these reports, due to the ongoing war and active combat conditions. (QNA)
