11 People Killed, 45 Wounded in Traffic Accident in Western Brazil
Brasilia, August 10 (QNA) - Brazilian authorities on Saturday announced the death of 11 people and the injury of 45 others in a traffic accident in the western part of the country.
The accident occurred near the city of Lucas do Rio Verde in the state of Mato Grosso on Friday, when a passenger bus collided with a truck carrying cotton seeds, resulting in 11 deaths and 45 injuries, the Brazilian Federal Highway Police said in a statement Saturday.
Fatal accidents are common on Brazil's roads. In May, nine people were killed in a similar collision between a bus and a truck in the same state. (QNA)
