Rome, July 24 (QNA) - Juventus announced today the official signing of Portuguese left-back Joao Mario from FC Porto on a five-year contract.

In a statement on its official social media accounts, Juventus confirmed that Mário signed a deal binding him to the club until the summer of 2030, noting that he will be a significant addition to the team in the left-back position.

The 25-year-old Portuguese defender joins Juventus in what marks his first professional experience outside his home country. He came through Porto’s youth ranks and went on to play 181 matches with the first team, scoring 5 goals across domestic and European competitions. He has also been representing the Portuguese national team since 2023.

Joao Mario is Juventus’s third signing of the transfer window, following the acquisitions of Canadian forward Jonathan David and fellow Portuguese player Francisco Conceicao.

Juventus finished last season in fourth place and is set to begin its 2025-2026 Serie A campaign on Aug. 23 against Parma. (QNA)
