Hernan Crespo Returns as Sao Paulo Head Coach
Brazil, June 19 (QNA) - Brazilian football club Sao Paulo announced the return of its Argentine coach Hernan Crespo, succeeding his compatriot Luis Zubeldia.
Club President Julio Casares said: "Crespo is a great professional who already knows the club, has won a title here and the time has come for him to return. We're delighted to have him back."
The 49-year-old Crespo's first stint with Sao Paulo ended in October 2021, less than five months after leading the team to the Brazilian league title, due to a disappointing start to their title defense.
Crespo led Qatari club Al Duhail to the Qatari League title, the Qatar Cup, and the Ooredoo Cup in the 2022/23 season, before leading UAE club Al Ain to the AFC Champions League title last year, which qualified them for the ongoing Club World Cup.
However, he was dismissed in November following a poor run of results. (QNA)
