1st Meeting of Qatar-Greece Joint Commission for Economic and Technical Cooperation Takes Place in Doha

Doha, June 16 (QNA) - The 1st Meeting of the Joint Commission for Economic and Technical Cooperation between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of the Hellenic Republic convened in Doha on Monday, co-chaired by HE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Dr. Ahmad bin Mohamed Al Sayed and HE Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic Tasos Chatzivasileiou.

The Joint Commission's meeting was attended by representatives from various government entities, including the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Public Health, the Ministry of Municipality, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, in addition to the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa), the Investment Promotion Agency Qatar (Invest Qatar), the Qatar Investment Authority, the Qatar Central Bank, the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, the Qatar Airways Group, the Qatar Free Zones Authority, and the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The meeting discussed areas of cooperation across various sectors of mutual interest and ways to enhance and develop them in the service of both sides' interests.

In his opening speech, the Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs stressed the strength of relations between the State of Qatar and the Hellenic Republic, noting that ties between both countries have witnessed significant growth in recent years.

His Excellency stressed the Joint Commission's significance, being a practical platform for exploring future cooperation opportunities in priority sectors, aligning with both countries’ aspirations for sustainable development and economic prosperity.

HE Dr. Al Sayed also invited Greek investors and companies to benefit from the Qatari market's promising opportunities and affirmed the State of Qatar's commitment to supporting cooperation and joint action with partners in Greece in order to transform visions into tangible realities that contribute to growth and prosperity in both nations.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed their aspiration to continue strengthening bilateral cooperation across various fields, affirming that the outcomes of this meeting will open up new horizons for partnership between the State of Qatar and the Hellenic Republic. (QNA)
