Egyptian, Turkish Presidents Warn: Israel's Escalatory Approach Could Have Disastrous Repercussions for Region
Cairo, June 14 (QNA) - During their phone call on Saturday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, stressed that Israel's ongoing escalatory approach could have disastrous repercussions for the region and its security and stability.
Both leaders added that this approach jeopardizes the capabilities of the peoples of the region and the Middle East as a whole, which could slide into widespread chaos, the consequences of which will be borne by all countries without exception.
The Egyptian and Turkish Presidents stressed the need for an immediate cessation of military operations and for the US and Iran to return to negotiations through Omani mediation, the only way to reach a peaceful solution to the current crisis.
The two sides also completely rejected displacing Palestinians from their land or the liquidation of the Palestinian cause, and said that they will continue to consult and coordinate with one another, as well as take joint action to restore regional stability. (QNA)
