Damascus, June 12 (QNA) - A citizen was killed and seven others kidnapped during an Israeli occupation forces raid on the village of Beit Jinn in the Damascus countryside.

The Syrian Ministry of Interior said in a statement Thursday that the occupation forces carried out raids and arrests, resulting in the arrest of seven people.

It noted that this escalation was accompanied by direct gunfire on residents of the village, resulting in the death of one civilian.

The kidnapped were transferred to the occupied territories, and their fate is unknown.

The statement explained that the Israeli occupation forces, which entered the village in the Qatana area in the Damascus countryside, were composed of tanks, armored personnel carriers, and infantry vehicles, accompanied by a reconnaissance drone.

The Ministry affirmed that these repeated provocations constitute a flagrant violation of the country's sovereignty and a blatant breach of international laws and conventions.

It emphasized that such practices cannot lead to stability in the region and will only lead to further tension and unrest.

Last December, Israeli occupation forces penetrated Syrian territories following the fall of the former regime, entering the buffer zone in the Golan Heights and other areas in Quneitra and the eastern side of Mount Hermon.

They then repeated their incursion into the southern Quneitra Governorate in January, entering the areas of al-Asha, Abu Ghara, Mazraat al Hiran, the Tank Company, and al Tulul al Hamr.(QNA)
