Dozens Martyred, Injured in Ongoing Israeli Occupation Bombing of Areas in Gaza Strip
Gaza, May 22 (QNA) - Dozens of Palestinians were martyred and injured early Thursday as a result of ongoing Israeli airstrikes targeting various areas across the Gaza Strip.
According to the Palestinian News and Information Agency (WAFA), ten Palestinians, nine of whom were from the same family, were martyred and several others injured when Israeli forces bombed a shelter for displaced persons in Al-Baraka area of Deir al-Balah, in central Gaza.
Additionally, two others were killed in Deir al-Balah in an airstrike targeting a tent in Al-Sadaqah Camp, south of Deir al-Balah.
Five more individuals were reported martyred, and others wounded, following an Israeli strike on a family home in the northwest of Gaza City.
In a related development, Israeli forces carried out demolitions of several residential buildings in the eastern part of Al-Qarara, northeast of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza.
Israeli warplanes also targeted two homes in the Al-Zarqa area of northern Gaza, killing all those inside.
Another airstrike hit a house in the Tel Al-Zaatar neighborhood of the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, causing extensive structural damage.
Local sources informed WAFA that firefighting teams faced severe challenges in reaching the affected areas due to the widespread destruction of roads and infrastructure caused by the continuous bombardment. They were forced to reach the sites on foot and rely on hand tools in the absence of heavy equipment.
Since the beginning of the Israeli occupation's aggression on October 7, 2023, the casualty toll in Gaza reached 53,655 martyred and 121,950 injured. (QNA)
