Gaza, May 18 (QNA) - Nine Palestinians were martyred and others injured on Sunday in Israeli occupation airstrikes targeting Gaza City and Jabalia.

According to the Palestinian news agency (WAFA), seven people were martyred and others wounded when an Israeli drone bombed a group of civilians digging a water well in Al Saftawi neighborhood in northern Gaza City.

Additionally, two more people were martyred and several others injured when Israeli occupation warplanes struck a home in Al Faluja area of Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip.

Israeli occupation warplanes also bombed the vicinity of the European Hospital east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that 140 people have been killed in intense Israeli occupation airstrikes since early Sunday morning, including 69 in Gaza City and the northern part of the Strip.

The ongoing heavy bombardment by Israeli occupation forces on the besieged Gaza Strip led to thousands of deaths and injuries - most of them women and children - triggering an unprecedented humanitarian, health, and environmental catastrophe amid near-total destruction of infrastructure.

Since Oct. 7, 2023, Israel has been committing acts of genocide in Gaza, resulting in around 174,000 people martyred or injured with more than 11,000 still missing. (QNA)
