Berlin, April 08 (QNA) - Borussia Dortmund has announced that its international defender Nico Schlotterbeck will be sidelined for the remainder of the season due to a tear in the cartilage of his left knee.

The club confirmed in a statement that Schlotterbeck, 25, sustained the injury during training on Monday.

Dortmund currently sits eighth in the Bundesliga standings with 41 points. The team will host Spanish club Barcelona on Wednesday in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarterfinals. Additionally, they are set to participate in the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States in June and July. (QNA)
