Doha, April 12 (QNA) - Qatar Charity (QC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Djibouti's Ministry of Health to support the country's health sector. Additionally, the organization participated in the inauguration of the dialysis center, which was equipped with the support of benevolent individuals in Qatar to enhance services for kidney failure patients.

This came during a visit to Djibouti by QC's Head of Humanitarian Intervention Ibrahim Abdulrahman Al Janahi to follow up on the implementation of humanitarian projects and assess the population's needs.

The MoU was signed by Secretary-General of Djibouti's Ministry of Health, Mohamed Ali Mohamed and Country Director of Qatar Charity's Djibouti Branch, Ghada Eezedin Ahmed. The signing ceremony was attended by HE Minister of Health of Djibouti, Dr. Ahmed Roblah Abdullah and HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Djibouti, Dr. Rashid bin Shafeea Al Marri.

The MoU aims to establish a comprehensive framework for cooperation between Qatar Charity and the Ministry of Health across various health sectors. This cooperation includes providing medical equipment and supplies, constructing and renovating hospitals and health centers, organizing specialized medical camps, and training medical personnel.

During his speech at the ceremony, HE Dr. Ahmed Roblah Abdullah emphasized the importance of this partnership. He expressed his gratitude to the State of Qatar for its significant support of health programs and to Qatar Charity for its commitment to assisting Djibouti in addressing health challenges.

For his part, HE Ambassador Dr. Rashid bin Shafeea Al Marri expressed his pleasure in strengthening cooperation between the two nations. He affirmed Qatar's commitment to supporting the Ministry of Health in its efforts to provide comprehensive and high-quality healthcare for all.

In turn, Ghada Eezedin Ahmed highlighted the organization's impactful health initiatives, such as providing medical equipment and organizing medical camps. She expressed hope that the MoU would further expand these efforts to achieve shared objectives.

Following the signing of the MoU, Qatar Charity provided the Ministry of Health with a range of health products, including 250 blood pressure monitors and 70 wheelchairs, to support health centers.

Additionally, Qatar Charity inaugurated the newly renovated dialysis center, equipping it with state-of-the-art medical devices. Its contribution included seven new dialysis machines, along with thorough maintenance and updated furnishings to ensure a comfortable space for patients.

Doctors at the center thanked Qatar Charity, noting that this initiative would significantly improve their capacity to treat patients with chronic kidney diseases. They highlighted the urgent need for further support in Djibouti's health sector to address the growing demand for medical services.

Al Janahi stated that dialysis center opening shows the organization's commitment to improving the lives of patients with kidney failure. He thanked Qatar's generous donors and all who helped make the project a success. (QNA)
