Doha, March 03 (QNA) - The Educational Development Institute (EDI), a member of Qatar Foundation (QF), announced a strategic partnership with STEM.org, the world's leading organization in STEM education research and accreditation in the United States, during the 2025 Teaching and Learning Forum.

This strategic partnership grants the Educational Development Institute exclusive rights to certify teachers as "Certified" in STEM after rigorous training and assessments. Recognizing their expertise and commitment, this certification reinforces the institute's status as the sole authorized entity in the Gulf. Aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030, it supports workforce development, economic diversification, and sustainability.

By adopting the globally recognized STEM.org standards, the institute aims to transform the quality of education within Qatar Foundation schools and beyond. It focuses on empowering educators through advanced training programs that enhance their critical thinking, creativity, and sustainable learning skills.

Additionally, this partnership seeks to improve student performance by providing high-quality education centered on practical applications and innovation. The impact of these efforts extends across 12 key sectors, ensuring a broad influence that fosters educational excellence in various fields.

Sara Rashid Al Kuwari, Director of the Educational Development Institute at Qatar Foundation's Pre-University Education, emphasized the significance of the partnership, said: "This collaboration marks a transformational leap in our mission to enhance STEM education in the region. By combining STEM.org's global expertise with our strategic vision, we are advancing Qatar Foundation's commitment to educational excellence." Highlighting the direct impact on students and teachers, Al Kuwari added: "Students will benefit from hands-on learning experiences and real-world challenges, equipping them with the skills to think creatively and develop innovative solutions." "Teachers will gain access to specialized training programs that enable them to implement innovative teaching methods, fostering creativity and innovation within the classroom," Al Kuwari said, while pointing to commitment to professional development is at the heart of this partnership by creating a sustainable educational environment that promotes lifelong learning.

Andrew Raupp, Executive Director of STEM.org, described the partnership as a turning point in STEM education, and said: "This agreement unites STEM.org's expertise with EDI, Qatar's leading institution for teacher development. Through our shared vision, we aim to establish Qatar as a regional hub for educational innovation in the Arab world." Raupp emphasized the initiative's role in redefining STEM teaching: "This collaboration goes beyond teacher training; it introduces a pioneering educational model that equips educators with cutting-edge methodologies and best practices, ensuring they are prepared to guide students toward future success."
