Doha, February 24 (QNA) - Qatar Digital Academy, an initiative by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), has signed a partnership initiative with Huawei during the Web Summit Qatar 2025 on Sunday.

This agreement is set to provide government employees with educational opportunities in crucial digital fields, including cloud computing, information technology, IoT, and other emerging digital technologies.

Commenting on the partnership, Director of the Digital Society and Digital Competencies Department at MCIT, Duha Al Buhendi stated: "This partnership initiative with Huawei marks a significant step for Qatar Digital Academy in empowering government employees with advanced digital expertise. It aligns with the sixth pillar of the Digital Agenda 2030, which focuses on building a future-ready digital society.

"Our goal is to enhance digital inclusion and provide high-quality educational opportunities that equip government employees with essential digital skills. This partnership also supports the human development pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030," Al Buhendi added.

On the other side, EVP Huawei Gulf North, Alex Dai said: "At Huawei, we are committed to fostering digital talent and empowering local ICT ecosystems. Through our partnership with Qatar Digital Academy, we are providing globally recognized training programs that will equip individuals with the knowledge and expertise to thrive in Qatar’s fast-evolving digital landscape. We believe that talent is the key to a successful digital transformation, and this partnership initiative is a significant step toward that goal." Under the terms of the partnership initiative, Huawei will provide digital training courses to government employees, granting them access to the Huawei Talent Platform. Employees will be able to create their own accounts and enroll in a diverse range of training programs, offering a flexible learning experience tailored to their professional needs and schedules.

Since its launch last year, Qatar Digital Academy has made significant strides in enhancing the digital competencies of the government workforce. It has successfully delivered numerous specialized training programs to hundreds of government employees, introduced initiatives to promote digital literacy, and established strategic partnerships with global technology leaders.

The Academy has played a crucial role in developing expertise in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and other critical digital domains. (QNA)
