Doha, December 07 (QNA) - The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has announced the renewal of its framework agreement with Google Cloud, on the sidelines of MWC25 Doha.

The renewed agreement enables government entities to leverage secure cloud solutions, generative AI technologies, and advanced data analytics through Google Cloud's local region in Doha, enhancing operational efficiency and improving public service delivery.

The agreement was signed by Assistant Undersecretary for Infrastructure and Operations Affairs at MCIT, Sami Mohammed Al Shammari and Google Cloud's Regional General Manager, Ghassan Kosta. Under the renewed framework, government entities will continue to benefit from innovative, secure, and scalable cloud services, with a strong focus on shaping the future of public services through generative AI and advanced data solutions.

Speaking about the renewed collaboration, Al Shammari said the reinforced partnership with Google Cloud has been instrumental in advancing Qatar's digital landscape.

"The renewal of this critical framework agreement at MWC25 Doha demonstrates our successful collaboration and Google Cloud's tangible contributions to our nation’s technological progress," he said.

"By providing cutting-edge and secure cloud solutions, and fostering innovation particularly in AI and data analytics, we empower government entities to enhance services, drive efficiency, and accelerate development across all sectors. We look forward to continuing this fruitful collaboration, further solidifying Qatar's digital future and achieving the ambitious goals of Qatar National Vision 2030."

Meanwhile. Kosta commented: "We are deeply honored and strategically committed to the renewal of our Master Framework Agreement with MCIT. Announcing this long-term alliance at MWC25 Doha is a defining moment.

"MCIT's continued confidence in Google Cloud, delivered through our Doha region, affirms the unmatched value of our intelligent cloud infrastructure. By providing advanced technologies—from AI to robust security—we remain a steadfast partner in accelerating Qatar's digital transformation, empowering public services, and supporting the growth of a knowledge-based economy."

This collaboration is one of several strategic partnerships unveiled during MWC25 Doha, collectively aimed at building an integrated digital ecosystem. These initiatives underscore MCIT's commitment to providing government entities with the tools needed to drive Qatar's digital transformation and advance its knowledge-based economy.
