Doha, December 31 (QNA) - The Organizing Committee of the Qatar Camel Festival "Jazilat Al‑Ata", organized by the Qatar Camel Mazayen Club, has devised an outstanding accolade named the "Raa'i Al Nazar" in this year's edition, slated for January 2026, at the Al Basair Camel Beauty Area in Al Shahaniya.

In a statement Wednesday, the club clarified that the accolade intends to explore promising talents and instill judging skills and capabilities among those interested in camel beauty contests, underscoring the festival's commitment to advancing young national manpower in this time-honored heritage field.

The prize targets Qatari citizens aged 30 and above, giving priority to those who have not previously judged in international or sub‑regional festivals, while participation by festival staff is strictly prohibited to ensure full integrity and impartiality, the statement read.

Selection of participants will occur in two main stages to guarantee that the most competent and talented judges are chosen. The first stage involves registration in a single judging category, followed by evaluation of 20 camels from the selected category, with a total score of 40 points.

Three participants with the highest cumulative scores in each category will qualify for the next stage, while any scoring below 15 points will be disqualified, the statement highlighted, affirming that should there be any tie, participants will be called for a second day of evaluation to determine the qualifiers.

In the second stage, the qualifiers will enter direct contest throughout the festival, with two rounds per day, culminating in the selection of one winner per category.

The committee has allocated valuable in‑kind prizes for the winners, with each victor in the three categories receiving a new GWM Wingle 7 vehicle, resulting in a total of three vehicles awaiting the first-place winners in these categories.

As such, the committee invited those interested in participating to finalize a registration form and undergo a committee evaluation of applications, noting that the deadline for submission is January 7, 2026, requiring prospective participants to expedite their applications.

This accolade represents an outstanding addition to the Qatar Camel Festival, embodying the festival's vision to preserve and develop heritage by investing in human capacities capable of upholding the standards of judging in future camel beauty contests. (QNA)
