High Turnout at 3rd Souq Waqif Truffle Exhibition and Auction
Doha, December 31 (QNA) - The 3rd Souq Waqif Truffle Exhibition and Auction, held in the eastern square of the market, is witnessing a large turnout of visitors and truffle lovers, following the outstanding success achieved by the exhibition over the past two editions, establishing a culture of buying this product in an organized and safe manner among many varieties available in a unified location.
The 3rd Souq Waqif Truffle Exhibition and Auction, which began on Dec. 28 and continues until the end of the truffle season from 7 am to 11 am, attracts three Arabic varieties, with the aim of providing a wide selection that meets all tastes within the standards and conditions of public safety.
On this occasion, supervisor of the truffle auction at Souq Waqif Jamal Al Ishaq said that this edition is witnessing great distinction in terms of the organization provided by the management of Souq Waqif, in addition to allocating sites and spaces dedicated to women, the elderly and people with disabilities, expecting an increase in the number of visitors and attendees of the exhibition and auction during the coming days.
In his remarks to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Al Ishaq indicated that the types of truffles available in this session are three types: Saudi, Algerian and Moroccan. He added that work is underway to provide more other types of truffles during the coming days of the exhibition.
He invited all those interested to visit the exhibition and auction in the eastern square of Souq Waqif, especially since truffles are very popular in the GCC countries in particular and the Arab countries in general. He noted that huge numbers of visitors buy truffles seasonally with the aim of presenting them as a valuable gift to their loved ones.
He added that there are specialized teams from the Consumer Protection Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and a health team from the Ministry of Municipality to monitor the standards and conditions of public safety for this product to present it to visitors with the highest specifications, calling for a visit to the event to learn about truffles, and to engage in these interactive atmospheres that continuously attract visitors with the aim of buying truffles in an organized and safe manner.
The Souq Waqif Truffle Exhibition and Auction has contributed over two seasons to establishing a culture of buying truffles in an organized and safe manner, amid expectations that the current edition will attract large numbers in conjunction with the peak of the truffle season in the coming days, which will contribute to increasing the diversity of varieties in the auction, which attracts the largest possible number of visitors and meets large numbers of tastes towards specific varieties of truffles with the required standards and quality.
