Rabat, December 30 (QNA) - The Sudanese national football team will face off Burkina Faso in the city of Casablanca on Wednesday, in a decisive clash to determine Group E's runners-up, in the third and final round of the CAF Africa Cup of Nations.

Neither team had guaranteed qualifying for the round of 16, but they both benefited from Groups A and B results, securing their spots as two of the four best third-place teams that advanced, alongside the winners and runners-up of all six groups.

The Comoros (Group A) and Angola (Group B) finished the group stage in third place with two points each, while Burkina Faso and Sudan have three points each.

Sudan, champions of the 1970 edition, began their campaign with a 3–0 defeat to Algeria before beating Equatorial Guinea 1–0.

The Sudanese team is aiming to secure its second win in the tournament under the leadership of its Ghanaian coach Kwesi Appiah, for the first time since last December.

For their part, Burkina Faso are looking to regain their balance after their seven-match unbeaten run came to an end with a penalty-kick loss to Algeria. (QNA)
