Lausanne, December 28 (QNA) - The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) has named Qatar's beach volleyball duo Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan as the world's best men's team for 2025.

In a statement issued today, the FIVB said it selected the Qatari pair as the top beach volleyball duo globally for 2025 in recognition of their outstanding performances throughout the tournaments they competed in this year.

The federation said that Younousse's strong presence at the net, combined with Tijan's exceptional defensive work on the court, made the Qatari duo a dominant force throughout 2025. Their performances played a decisive role in Qatar's capture of four gold medals, establishing them as one of the standout beach volleyball teams in the world.

The FIVB described Qatar's performance in beach volleyball during 2025 as "remarkable," noting that Younousse and Tijan consistently delivered world-class displays and regularly reached the final stages of the Beach Pro Tour. Their performances, the federation said, demonstrated peak athletic form through a combination of tactical excellence and physical strength, further strengthening Qatar's standing on the global stage.

The Qatari beach volleyball team, comprising Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan, secured four international gold medals during the Beach Pro Tour stops in Xiamen - China; Gstaad - Switzerland; New York - US; and Rio de Janeiro - Brazil. (QNA)
